Six Valley brunches to get around
Brunch (noun): the glorious meal between breakfast and lunch that lets us roll straight out of bed and into a bacon-and-egg burrito.
Whether you missed your morning alarm clock (accidentally or intentionally is fine by us), or simply can’t look past a mid-morning smashed avo toast, we’ve taken to Fortitude Valley’s best brunch spots to let you in on the good morning goss. We have a hunch that we’ll see you around Fortitude Valley for brunch.
1. The New Black
Brunch is The New Black, as your new favourite Bakery Lane cafe will have you believe. Go sweet with red velvet waffles with strawberries, cream cheese glaze and meringue, or go savoury and BYOB (build your own breakfast) – think a choice of bread, eggs your way, two sides and sauce on the side.
2. Reverends Fine Coffee & Bar
Pull up a pew and get pumped for Reverends – one of Brisbane’s best specialty coffee shops on California Lane. We adore the brekkie burger for one smooth brunch option – we’re talking smoked bacon, fried egg, melted cheese and sriracha mayo on a toasted milk bun. If you’re late for an important date, the grab-and-go options are your go-to!
3. No. 5 Cafe
No. 5 is alive and kicking in Winn Lane with a killer lineup of fresh and flavoursome brunch options. From warming specials such as loaded croissants with bacon, hashbrowns and poached eggs that have to be seen to be believed to new faves like housemade chocolate granola, brunchers on the run can also fuel up with mini granola pots and chia cups.
4. The Rose Room
The Valley’s pretty-in-pink venue is a Turkish delight confection and the ideal Instagrammable spot for a brunchtime soiree. Slide into The Rose Room and indulge in mushroom croquettes, mango ceviche tacos, Turkish eggs and breakfast pide. Be sure to leave room for a Fruit Loops thickshake and homemade baklava. Yum!
5. L’Americano Brisbane
For a stylish breakfast or brunch, you can’t go past the classic repast on offer at L’Americano with its elegant location within Coco Republic on Wickham Street. Dine in on the curated Italian Riviera and mod Oz-inspired menu (we adore the breakfast brioche, piadina and dolce selection) or pick-up an artisan pastry and Vittoria coffee to go.
6. Bisou Bisou
Want to show your mum some extra love this mother’s Day? Why not treat her with a fancy schmancy brunch? Bisou Bisou brings to you it’s luxe French dining experience this year to spoil your mum this year and catch up on all the missed time with some delectable French menu items on the side.
