Hard seltzers aka boozy fizzy water are a massively popular drinks trend that has spritzed the summer drinks market in the US and set to be Brissie’s tipple of choice for the warmer months, too. A low-carb and low-calorie alcoholic sparkling beverage, hard seltzers are a refreshing summer drink alternative with a hint of natural fruit flavours – perfect for day drinking.
Here’s where to find them in the Valley:
The team at Bloodhound Corner Bar & Kitchen is always sniffing out new brews, so look out for some Australian-made hard seltzers to join the already-impressive lineup of tinnies.
Try the Sunly Seltzer range from Byron Bay-based Stone & Wood at their Valley brewery. Their hard seltzers come in Lemon & Ginger, Davidson Plum & Berry and Blood Orange & Grapefruit and are primed for summer swigging. Book a table, or wing it and walk in!
For the OG White Claw seltzers that started the fizzy water trend in the US, you can pick up the three flavours available in Australia so far at Uh Oh Bottle-O & Wine Bar for takeaway or drink it at the onsite bar or garden. Take your refreshing fruity pick of Mango, Natural Lime or Ruby Grapefruit.
Head to Prince Cellars, The Prince Consort’s bottleshop, for takeaways. Ask the expert team for their fresh pick of Australian-made hard seltzers such as the aforementioned Sunly Seltzer and Fizz Sparkling Hard Seltzers in Orange & Mango, Lemon & Ginger and Watermelon & Berry. Made on the Gold Coast, the duo behind the Fizz are celeb chef Hayden Quinn and DJ-producer Fisher so you know it’s a party in a can.
Sadly no hard seltzers at Netherworld, but you can sample their loaded sodas with a shot of your fave spirit in one of the house-made flavoured sodas.
