The Italians might have invented pizza, but Australians take their toppings very seriously!

Whether you’re #teampineapple or not, read on for where to find the best pizza venues of Fortitude Valley.

Johnny's Pizzeria

Slice, slice, baby. Put on your dancing shoes and pack a bib—things are about to get deliciously messy at Johnny’s. Swap the twinkling stars of the Italian sky with sparkling disco balls as you dine in this bona fide 1970s disco-inspired eatery. With a generous menu of traditional and gourmet pizzas, there’s always something to satisfy your late-night cravings. Our pick? Taste the flavours of their Four Seasons number, decked out with cheese, ham, prawns, capsicum and mushrooms. Pair it with a couple of Comparis and you’ll be groovin’ away into the evening Elaine Benes-style.

Finn McCool’s

Don’t be fooled: Finn McCool’s has no chill. There might not be any leprechauns in this Irish pub, but step in and you will find plenty of pots of gold (and by ‘gold’ we mean ‘pizzas’). Oozing cheesy goodness and packed with punchy flavours, Finn McCool’s serves up four classic pizzas that will make you forget frozen ones even existed.

Giardinetto

Roll up, roll up! For hearty lovers of Italian (fan)fare, get a slice of the action in this vibrant Valley eatery. Forgo your diet plans with their formaggio spinach and ricotta number, topped off with four (yes, four!) different types of cheeses. Alternatively, suit up for a dressed-up pizza affair and eat your heart out Bruce Bogtrotter-style in a pizza banquet for $30 per person.

The Elephant Hotel

Take one step into The Elephant Hotel and it won’t be hard to see how it got its name—boasting a stone-baked pizza oven, gourmet handmade bases and incredible flavours, this Valley watering hole attracts a stampede of guests.

Holey Moley

Mini golf is hard work. As is napping. And if you’ve done either, you certainly deserve a treat. Tee off with their carnivore-friendly Meat Lovers pizza, topped with slow-braised pulled pork, pepperoni, smoked ham and bacon. Alternatively, take a cut shot at their vegan Cutting Veg pizza, made with a beetroot base, vegan mozzarella and secret pizza sauce.

Boroughs of New York Wood-fire Pizza

Taste a slice of the Big Apple next time you’re in the Valley courtesy of Boroughs of New York. Led by two New York city slickers (so you know it’s gotta be good) sift through their ginormous pizza menu to enjoy flavours inspired by the NY boroughs themselves, including the Bronx, Manhattan and Staten Island.

Pineapple preferences aside, let’s eat!
