Brisbane’s iconic Big Gay Day knew it had to produce something special to mark its milestone 20th instalment this year – and guys and gals, it has delivered!
Former Spice Girl Mel C will hit the stage at The Wickham on 8 March, headlining a technicolour line-up of local and national artists. The award-winning Electric Fields will also perform alongside acts including Melbourne duo Cry Club, funk ensemble The Regime and Brisbane/Gold Coast punk rockers Being Jane Lane.
Fabulous drag performers from across Australia, including Brisbane favourite Vollie LaVont, will bring their sparkle to the event that stops a city (well, at least closes down a street or two).
Established in 2000 as a celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community, Big Gay Day is not only one of Brisbane’s biggest street parties but also a prolific fundraiser for local charities including The Queensland Aids Council, Brisbane Pride and Open Doors Youth Service.
Big Gay Day is an 18+ event with tickets available online or at the door.
