Boroughs of New York Pizza
Did you know there are actually 12 different types of pizza (pie) in the USA? Of those, the New York-style pizza is the most famous and Boroughs of New York Pizza brings this thin-base, wood-fired masterpiece to Brisbane. Giardinetto Italian Restaurant
Giardinetto has been a pizza the Brunswick Street landscape for 54 years, so you best believe this Italian fine-diner knows how to sling a pizza. There’s 11 classic and not-so-classic options to choose from, including the Tropicale (ham and pineapple), so basically, you do you – no judgement. Call 3252 4750 or book online.
Must-order: The signature Giardinetto – it’d be rude not to.
The Elephant Hotel
Hit up the Valley Pizzeria section of The Elephant Hotel menu for six options of 12” stone-baked pizzas on homemade bases (GF available). Note: toppings solely cater for carnivores or pescatarians. Email firstname.lastname@example.org about the Private Locker Room Parties packages available.
Must-order: The Carnivore with a meaty beer.
Another pandemic pivot we heart is Laruche Pizza. The Valley bar is currently slinging beer, spirits or wine and pizza deals for free online delivery within a 2.5km radius, and with a selection of eight gourmet wood-fired pizzas on offer, we are here for it.
Must-order: The signature Mexican Standoff pizza with chicken taco stu, red onion and pico de gallo.
MD’s Italian Kitchen & Bar
If you like your pizza the way the Italians do it, book a table at MD’s Italian Kitchen & Bar on 3854 1989 or order online for delivery pronto. While we’re not sure what nonna would make of the Nutella and fruit dessert pizza, she’d definitely approve of the mostly classic pizza toppings on offer.
Must-order: Quattro Formaggi because All. The. Cheese.
New York Slice Pizzeria
New York is larger than life, so expect some mighty massive pizza portions here. From the 18” pizza to a Massive Slice, this is the spot for a big feed. All the popular faves are here for takeaway or delivery, plus New York Slice currently sells frozen pizza slice packs if you need emergency supplies.
Must-order: Go retro with a Pepperoni pizza.

Shah Kebab and Pizza Cafe
If you’ve spent a late night tossing up between a takeaway kebab or pizza, you’ll know Shah Cafe – Kebab and Pizza. The satisfying homemade pizzas at this late-night Brunswick Street Mall hotspot are dripping with oozy, gooey cheese and served hot by the slice.
Must-order: The Shah Kebab vegetarian pizza, heaped with greens for a virtuous feed.
Eat in or takeaway, The Sound Garden bar on Brunswick Street dishes up the live tunes and four pizza options to share or keep for yourself. Currently open Thursdays to Sundays from 11am to 10pm – book online to secure your seat.

Everyone’s fave Sunday sesh location does a surprisingly good pizza, best enjoyed in the outdoor beer garden. There’s just four options – Butchers Cut, Margherita, Pumpkin and Cajun Chicken – which makes it easy when you just want pizza and don’t want to wade through options. Love that.
