If 2022 is your year to make a difference, the Valley has all the solutions for achieving your New Year’s resolutions. We’ve selected five of the most popular New Year’s resolutions people make and where to make them a reality in the Valley.

Spend more time with friends
Assemble your brains trust for a night of trivia at The Wickham, presented by Quiz Meisters from 7pm every Thursday, with heaps of prizes to be won. Maybe it’s laidback hangs you and your mates need? Settle in at Hey Chica! for drinks and a share plate of Latin American street food.

Get more exercise
Getting fit in the Valley is easy with a choice of fun fitness options. Build your bodily aspirations with workouts at F45 Training or punch above your weight at Corporate Box Valley Gym. Looking for something not-so-ordinary? Try a Brazilian Samba dance class at Sambaliscious, and for the truly adventurous there are pole fitness classes at Pure Pole Academy.

Eat healthy
Healthy eating starts with fresh, high-quality produce. Find all your fresh food needs at any one of the Valley’s supermarkets or specialty grocers for creating delicious healthy meals at home. For healthier on-the-go options, drop by Tea Master Vegetarian Café Restaurant for authentic Taiwanese-Chinese cuisine. There’s plenty on offer for vegans as well – check out our guide here for the best vegan eats in the Valley.

Shop sustainably
Looking to go green in the New Year? Good on you! There are lots of ways to shop sustainably in the Valley and one of the best ways is to buy local from one of the independent retailers in the precinct. Over in California Lane at Alice Nightingale, environmentally and socially sustainable clothes are designed using second-hand, vintage and locally sourced fabrics and are made to last, keeping clothes out of landfill. A simple step to reducing your carbon footprint is ditching the disposable water bottles and picking up a reusable one from K2 Base Camp.

Learn something new
Take on a dance class at V Hub where you can learn to move and groove so those Friday nights on the dancefloor aren’t so lonely. If you’re feeling creative, contemporary design space Forge Forward also runs a variety of creative workshops, so check out their events page for upcoming classes. You can learn all about the local area by taking a free Fortitude Valley walking tour with Brisbane Greeters. The knowledgeable Greeters can take you off the beaten path and reveal the precinct’s fascinating history.
